The BUGC Annual General Meeting will take place at 6.30-8.00pm on the 9th May in the old Student Finance Office (4th floor) at the Student's Union. We will be looking to elect a new committee and opening the floor to general discussion on how the year has gone and members' views/ideas on various topics, including transport.

This is your chance to have a say in the running of the club next year, even if you just turn up to vote! If you fancy a bash at running the club next year, or if you have any great ideas or talking points, be sure to come along. Remember: societies are fragile things, so we need a strong team to keep things going for next year. We should finish up in time for some drinks in the bar afterwards.

The BUGC Course Weeks are a major annual club event for presolo members. Each year a group of us trek up to Nympsfield and camp out at the airfield, enjoying gliding during the day, drinks in the evening and debauchery at night. This year, BUGC has booked two course weeks, with 3 places available on each. The dates for the weeks are:
-Monday 18th - Friday 22nd June
-Monday 2nd - Friday 6th July
The cost per place is £37.50 for exclusive access to gliders, instructors and club facilities for a week. Note that flying fees are charged as normal. If you're interested, email Ed (ep3975) stating which week you would prefer.

Aston Down Gliding Club, BGGCs sister club is hosting a joint open day for the public on 13th May. BUGC will be making an appearance, alongside student members from UWE Gliding Club. The theme of the day is to get as many first-time flyers in the air as possible. For anyone still awaiting the chance to go flying, this is a good opportunity to see what it's all about. We are also looking for some seasoned members to come along and share their experiences of gliding with some of the new folk.
